openEuler Showcases Open Source Infrastructure for Financial Services at the 2026 China International Finance Exhibition
June 18, 2026 | openEuler
From June 16 to 18, the 2026 China International Finance Exhibition brought financial institutions and technology providers together at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition and Convention Center to explore the next phase of digital finance.
Held under the guidance of the People’s Bank of China and with support from the Shanghai municipal government, the event included forums and an innovation technology exhibition. OpenAtom openEuler contributed to the international subforum and presented technology and ecosystem work for financial-services workloads.
openEuler adoption expands across China’s financial sector
Lv Zhongtao, former chief technology officer of Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) and chairperson of the Beijing FinTech Industry Alliance, has highlighted openEuler’s stability, security, and ecosystem compatibility as reasons it has become a preferred platform for intelligent transformation in the sector.
Deployment across China’s financial industry continues to grow. openEuler-based systems have been deployed at scale by six large state-owned commercial banks, 12 joint-stock commercial banks, 42 major city commercial banks and rural credit institutions, eight insurance companies, and 17 leading securities firms.

Supporting digital transformation and AI adoption
At the June 16 subforum, Digital Finance Across Borders: Global Expansion and High-Quality Development, Li Ming, a member of the openEuler Marketing Committee, shared an update on the community ecosystem and commercial adoption.
After more than six years of development, the openEuler ecosystem has grown to over 2,100 partner organizations, making it one of the world’s largest open source operating system communities. According to Frost & Sullivan data cited at the event, openEuler-based systems accounted for 87.2% of new server OS deployments in China’s financial sector in 2025.
Li also presented two deployment cases:
ICBC: The bank uses an openEuler-based solution to colocate latency-sensitive online workloads with offline batch workloads. Workload prediction improves scheduling, while kernel-level controls reduce interference between processes. The mixed resource pool has achieved utilization above 50%, improving the use of more than 2,800 physical servers and over 400 GPUs and reducing infrastructure costs.
China Construction Bank: A migration solution based on openEuler enabled the bank to introduce an Arm, openEuler, and GaussDB stack into its core credit-card system alongside the existing platform. This dual-stack approach diversified the technical architecture and strengthened business continuity. The system serves more than 100 million accounts and 200 million credit cards, with transaction value exceeding RMB 3 trillion.

As AI agents move into production, openEuler is developing OS capabilities for both SuperPoDs and agentic AI. At the infrastructure layer, the SuperPoD OS introduced in late 2025 uses kernel-level heterogeneous device management to make better use of high memory capacity, bandwidth, and low-latency interconnects. At the application layer, openEuler is building agent infrastructure that combines fast sandboxes, memory services, and security controls to improve agent development and runtime efficiency.

From open source projects to enterprise deployment
Yue Zuo, co-founder and CEO of openEuler ecosystem partner Alauda, described how the company turns open source technology into enterprise products through product engineering, long-term support, security response, and compliance services.

Alauda OS is an enterprise operating system built on openEuler, with openEuler and openFuyao as core open source foundations. It integrates heterogeneous compute resources with container infrastructure to address platform autonomy, data security, and multi-architecture computing in financial services. Related solutions have been deployed at major banks in Southeast Asia and Africa, demonstrating how open source infrastructure can support financial modernization across markets.
Ecosystem partners present financial-services deployments
In the innovation technology exhibition, openEuler and ecosystem partners including KylinSoft, Kylinsec, and Alauda presented recent work in AI, SuperPoD operating systems, and open source ecosystem development, together with financial-services deployment cases built on openEuler.

At the openEuler exhibition booth
The exhibition showed how the community and its partners are using the SuperPoD OS to make heterogeneous computing resources more accessible, support the evolution of agentic AI, and provide a practical path for digital transformation in financial services. The openEuler community will continue to work with financial institutions and ecosystem partners to advance open source infrastructure for secure, reliable, and intelligent financial technology.
